Interactive Computer Programming Summer Camp - 2008

The first Interactive Computer Programming Summer Camp was held in Albany State University from July 7 11, 2008 with high and middle school students from Albany and surrounding communities. Though number of attendees was relatively small because of late announcement of the camp to the school authorities, but those who attended had a fun filled exciting time during the week. Students not only created their own animated story telling and computer games with Alice and Scratch software, but also assembled and programmed Lego-Mindstorm NXT robots to perform specific tasks such as following a line and avoiding obstacles.

The camp provided breakfast and lunch as well as recreational activities of basketball and swimming every afternoon.

The camp was funded by the seed money from the College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology and sponsored by a grant from National Science Foundation.
