This year Bridge Competition was held in a new venue, Chehaw Park activity center for the first time. The generous support of the Park management in the form of free access to the large indoor area with its wide balcony in a natural setting was very much appreciated by the attending students, teachers, parents and event organizers. Chehaw Park Authority manages one of the two accredited zoos in the state of Georgia and is dedicated to the conservation, preservation and education of wild life and their natural habitat. We sincerely appreciate their support in helping us hold this year’s competition and promise for the years to come.

For various reasons this year two of the schools who attended past years competition with the largest contingent of participants did not attend the event. As a result the number of both teams and students fell far short of the corresponding numbers in recent past. However, we had three new schools, Baconton Charter and Colquitt county high schools and Hutto middle school, participated in the competition for the first time. The students and teachers were excited to be part of hands-on demonstration of engineering principles and promised to come back next year.

Because of the relatively low number of participants, this year’s event was held in a single category comprising of 7 high schools and 10 middle school teams. First and third prizes were won by the teams from Miller county high school while the second prize was claimed by a team from Thomas county middle school. Miller county high school was awarded the winner's plaque by virtue of their winning two of the three top spots.

Table below shows the total number of participants which included teams from the middle schools since 2008 and the results at a glance.
